If you've ever tried finding the best web hosting service for your website, you've likely read several different reviews about all of the options available. JustHost is not often found on those reviews, and if it is, it's not receiving much praise.

Many people use JustHost because it's affordable. Who doesn't like to save money? However, you should ask yourself if saving money worth getting a terrible product.

JustHost Review UK 🇬🇧

Just like any other web hosting service, JustHost has good things about it and features it could improve on.

In this JustHost review, we will talk about what those features are, how much JustHost costs, what plans are available, and alternatives you can choose from to find something that truly works for you.

Now just because something needs improving, doesn't mean there aren't good qualities about it. Below you will read about the pros and cons of JustHost.

JustHost Pros & Cons

Let's look into JustHost's pros first:

Quick Server Provisioning 💨

If you've ever tried a web host before, you may have experienced a long sign-up process. Depending on which one you try, you have to jump through some hoops to even verify who you are.

This makes the entire process much slower and can be quite stressful. JustHost has instant server provisioning, that is if you have one of their more expensive plans.

No-Risk 🎲

If you're nervous about trying a web host for the first time, it's likely because of the money that goes into it. Thankfully, JustHost has a 30-day money-back guarantee.

This deal only applies to host services which may be important to note. This is likely because JustHost offers free domains.

Add-Ons 🏗️

Who doesn't like add ons? JustHost offers several add-ons including google apps. You also have access to both Google and Bing advertising credits which can be a big plus if you're just starting out or have a tight budget.

Safe and Secure 🔒

Another thing that people enjoy about JustHost is how safe and secure it is. When you're looking for a quality web host, making sure that it is safe and secure is crucial.

JustHost uses three popular safety measures including Secure Sockets Layer. They also provide SiteLock which helps many people feel at ease. With this, you'll even receive instant alerts and emails if there is a security breach for any reason.

Page Loading Speed 💨

It may be surprising to hear that JustHost loads websites faster than 19% of other web hosting services. When a website has a fast page loading speed it will reduce bounce rates and loss of traffic.

Script Library 📜

Lastly, JustHost gives its customers an entire script library for free. This includes popular options such as WordPress and Joomla.

Now, let's move onto some (very) dislikable features of JustHost:

Uptime 👎

We signed up for accounts across several other web hosting services. We would often find that uptime results were well below average. The industry average is 99.94%, whereas JustHost's uptime average is 99.90%.

There have been two months out of 16 months where their uptime has dipped below that number, but only once was it below the industry average.

Lack of Customer Service 📵

Customer support is one of the most important features any business could have. Unfortunately, JustHost does not have great quality customer support.

Not only does it take a long time to get connected to somebody via chat, they almost always answer your questions by linking you to their frequently asked questions page.

It feels like you're talking to an automated robot, rather than an actual human being who can help you.

If you want to try another avenue such as Twitter or email to get customer service from JustHost, you will get the same results.

It's important to note that customer service isn't available 24/7 either. You can tell from their past public interactions with customers that it seems like they don't care about you at all.

Hidden Offers 🤐

Usually, when you hear that a company has hidden offers, that's a good thing, but that is not the case with JustHost.

Many people see that JustHost offers a plan for £2.95 per month. Sounds great, right? Well, this price is only available if you pay for three years of service all upfront. Not a great deal.

They offer a package that is £4.44 per month. Again, this must be purchased upfront but only one year's worth of service instead of three. It will be worth it to many people to consider one of JustHost's alternatives listed below for this very reason.

Lack of Backups 🔁❌

If JustHost is the first web hosting service that you're looking into, hearing that they offer weekly backups may sound like a good deal. But, other website hosting services offer backups daily at a minimum.

Another thing to mention when it comes to backups is that JustHost doesn't guarantee backups. I don't know about you, but this worries me and many other website owners feel the same.

Upselling Galore 🤑

Have you ever been to the drive-through of your favorite fast-food restaurant only for them to try to upsell you to a bigger meal?

Maybe you've been checking out at your favorite clothing shop only to be asked several times if you want to join their loyalty program. Upselling alone is not a bad business practice.

It can quickly become toxic between a company and a customer once upsells become too excessive. When I signed up for a JustHost account the amount of upsells was beyond excessive and frankly, unnecessary.

JustHost Bonus Features 🌟

When it comes to features, JustHost offers quite a few. Whether or not these features work well will be up to you to decide.

They  let you choose the amount of that feature you receive. This can be applied to disc storage, site transfer, number of websites, and more.

They also offer basic features that can be applied to any account such as a free drag and drop site builder, the support of international domain names, three different webmail solutions, and site statistics.

In addition, there are also unlimited features like forwarding email accounts, add-on domains, parks domains, and email support.

There are a variety of e-commerce features as well, but nothing to write home about. Lastly, if you do you need to stream video or audio, that's also possible.

JustHost WebMail 📧

webmailJustHost prides itself on one feature in particular.

Web-based email, or what they call webmail, is a type of email that can be accessed anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Essentially, webmail is a professional email address that is connected to your domain that JustHost offers its customers.

Instead of emailing from johndoe@webbrowser.com, you can use johndoe@yourwebsitename.com. It's easy to set up a JustHost webmail account too.

There is no software required and you will save space on your computer as emails are stored online. The two webmail options they offer are Roundcube and Horde.

JustHost Themes 🎨

We will talk a little bit about the JustHost free themes next, but we wanted to let you know that JustHost provides customers with a site builder tutorial video.

This is incredibly convenient and can make it easy for just about anyone to create a website. It may also answer questions about how to add something such as Google maps or a sub-page to your website.

JustHost Free Themes

JustHost has several free templates available that make it easier to create your website. You are also able to add themes from things such as WordPress or phpBB. Plug-ins are your best option when it comes to building your website using JustHost.

Input your text here! The text element is intended for longform copy that could potentially include multiple paragraphs.

JustHost Alternatives ⚔️

When it comes to finding the best web hosting service for you, you want to find something that has the features you need and falls within your budget.

Since JustHost isn't the best option available, we wanted to include a handful of alternatives to help you find the perfect fit for you!

#1 Bluehost

Bluehost is easily one of the most popular web hosting options available. They have incredible uptime, fast load times, and it's easy to use and sign up.

There's an intro cost of £2.20 per month with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Bluehost offers quick customer support via live chat and phone. The only downfall to using Bluehost is that there are no free site migrations.

Compared to JustHost, that downside isn't that bad. If you don't have a website yet, Bluehost recommends some great website builders for you.

There are a ton of amazing features such as a built-in admin panel, free domain name, one-click install for plug-ins such as word press, unmetered bandwidth, and more.

They even offer a package with unlimited storage! JustHost UK is an elementary version of Bluehost.

#2 HostGator

Though it isn't one of the best free web hosts, it is one of the best ones that money can buy. HostGator is known for its unlimited hosting.

It has an above-average uptime, quick load times, one free site migration, unlimited email accounts, and more.

The main downside of HostGator is that there is a high renewal cost compared to other hosting sites.

HostGator's cheapest plan starts at under three dollars per month. It is important to note that this price is only locked in for the first six months. Then, depending on your plan, your monthly fee will be between £5.56 per month and £11.97 per month.

You'll receive unlimited bandwidth, storage space, and daily backups, which is nice.

#3 Hostinger

As seen in our Hostinger review, it is easily one of the cheapest options for web hosting.

When you're reading a JustHost review, you may be surprised to hear that it isn't the cheapest web hosting service available.

This is where Hostinger comes in. Services start at just 80 pennies per month and you will receive a free domain name for the first year.

Uptime is guaranteed, there's a 30-day money-back guarantee, and you will receive quick loading times. It is important to keep in mind that their cheapest price is only available when you choose a four-year subscription.

You will be given unlimited bandwidth and databases with every plan but the Single Web Hosting plan. Single Web Hosting will give you 10 GB of disc space and 100 GB of bandwidth. The main downfall with this option is that SSL is not included.

#4 SiteGround

Last but not least, we want to talk about one of the best WordPress hosting options available, SiteGround.

Plans start at £2.99/mo and come with the free site migration.

This price is good for the first 12 months of service. After this, if you decide to renew you will be paying £11.99/mo. This is why SiteGround isn't considered one of the cheapest options available.

Their customer support is incredibly knowledgeable and quick to find your answers. The uptime is fast and the interface is easy to use. Where SiteGround could improve is the lack of storage space and the setup fee if you want monthly billing.

It is important to note that when you use SiteGround, you will receive 10 GB of storage space, and 10,000 monthly visits. If your blog recieves (much) more traffic, SiteGround also offers great dedicated hosting for it's larger clients.

Ending on a high note, SiteGround is available all across the US, Europe, and Asia.
